Who we are?

Because of continuous scientific and technical developments, educational programs in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy are needed more than ever before. This is not only true for GI fellows but also for gastroenterologists who wants to become super-specialist in a specific area or technique.

The Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology of the University Hospital of Santiago de Compostela is internationally recognized as Educational and Research Center of Excellence in Gastroenterology. This is especially relevant in the areas of Pancreatology, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography (ERCP).
